There are varying degrees of inner seal leaking, slow leak means it hasn't failed completely but you are on borrowed time. Drill a dozen or so 1/2-3/4" holes across the dash in front of the gauges. Underneath the hood, install a fan or two in the black panel plastic panel that covers the underside of the gauges. Watch the clearance with stuff under the hood, you'll have to find the right spot for the fan (s). Works great!
